Must Haves for Monsoon season
This is that time
of the year when you want to get lost to some unknown
green land where it rains. Yes, it’s
monsoon! The sound of pitter patter raindrops on your rooftop sounds just umm…
romantic. But all this mush feeling doesn’t extend outside your bedroom; the moment
you decide to step out in rain there’s a
lot to take care about. First, what kind
of clothes are you going to wear? Second, what’s with the shoes and bags!
Third, your make-up! Let’s decode monsoon style! What are fashion must haves for monsoon!
1. Funky
flip flops in rubber, gum boots and acetate sandals
Focus on footwear rather than the attire.
The reason is simple! The muddy lanes and streets need suitable sandalsthat don’t get wet and are easily
washable. One can wear flip flops
in vibrant shades.
Wedges with rubber sole and strappy sandals
in synthetic material are best options
this monsoon. Jabong.com has many options for a stylish you. Slippers with
flower motifs and studded straps are available here. One should also try
acetate sandals.
2. Flared
skirts in light fabrics
As the Indian fashion scene is bustling
with short attires, monsoon perhaps is the best season to flaunt them. Flared
skirts made from 100% polyester can add spunk to your monsoon style. Pair them
up with light cotton tees or tops and you are all set to shine in the rain. The best thing about this silhouette is that
monsoon footwear and even gum boots look nice with them.
3. Shorts
and short skirts
Your skin can dry in a jiffy but not your
clothes. Think short, think functional when it comes to monsoon dressing. Go
for shorts and short skirts. Make a splash with your style.
4. Shift
dresses
As you know, rains are not perfect time to wear anything long. So, stick
to short. The retro style of A-line dresses is big
time in, thanks to Bollywood. Ever since actresses started wearing shift
dresses on and off screen, girls too have developed a liking for them. Shift
dresses come in perfect length and make for a good monsoon outfit. So even if
you choose to skip, Pick dresses in crepe, georgette or fine cotton as these
fabrics don’t take time to dry.
5. Cool statement plastic bags and clutches
The fun part about monsoons is the color. Go
out out and choose bags made from PU
(polyurethane). Brand Dorothy Perkins, available at Jabong.com, has options for
you. Also, backpacks come with rain cover. Skybags backpacks have this option, and are available at Jabong.com.
6. Waterproof
make-up products
Go for waterproof make-up products and be a
diva even if it rains. There is a range in waterproof eyeliners and mascara at
Jabong.com. Maybelline Express Finish eyeliner is quite easy in your pocket and makes for a perfect monsoon make-up product.
And how could you step out without that perfect
pout? Try lipsticks that are stay on with
matte and crayon finish. Hot pinks, corals and bright reds are sure-shot in. Maybelline, Revlon and Lakme have
a line of such lipstick shades for you.
